Weddings

Capacity
The Kenora Golf and Country Club has a timber frame pine banquet room that measures 48’ x 60’ that can accommodate up to 140 guests.

Rental Cost
The cost to rent the hall is $1000.00 (for 2025 booking) plus 13% HST, $200.00 of which is a non-refundable deposit required upon booking.

Security Deposit
Thirty days prior to the event, an additional refundable security fee of $500.00 is due. This fee is only applied in the event of damage to the premise, which determination is at the sole discretion of the club. The client agrees to accept personal and collective responsibility for any damages to the premise by the guests of the function prior to, during or after the function.

Decoration & Set-up
For evening events, the premise will be available for use by the booking party from 3 p.m. on the day of the event for the purpose of set-up etc.  Special arrangements may be made with management for decorating earlier depending on the club functions of the day.
The club utilizes the existing tables in addition to banquet tables that are rectangular in length that seat up to 9 people comfortably.   Table arrangements customized depending on the number of guests.  Assigned seating charts must be discussed with management 7 days prior to your event.  Table linens are not provided.
Candles are not permitted due to fire hazard as well as excess heat sources.  Battery powered string lighting is recommended or battery powered candles.
Due to the nature of the pine, stapling or nailing into the pine is not permitted. We also request that trophies remain on the designated trophy shelf.

Confetti, sparkles and rice
We ask that no confetti, sparkles or rice be used throughout the building or anywhere on the property.

Music/Sideshow

The club has a portable wireless sound system in which a phone or music device can be plugged into.  Please ensure that the music is downloaded on the device prior to play.  We find that with large groups using the wifi at events there can be disruption with online downloads.  Hall rental also includes the SOCAN/ReSound fees associated with music.

There is also a 85 inch television mounted on the fireplace that can be used for slideshows.  We suggest a laptop computer for this to ensure the use of an HDMI cable.

Photography
Your photographer can make use of the grounds outside the clubhouse, providing they are not interfering with the golfers. We ask that management be notified of areas that would like to be used to ensure pictures are taken safely.

Ceremony

Your ceremony may be held at the Kenora Golf & Country Club either inside the reception hall or in weather permits outdoors.  The ceremony must be held 4:30 pm or later on the first tee or practice green area.  We have a limited number of outdoor seating.  If more chairs are required they are at the organizer’s cost.   Please ensure that the proper licensing is filed prior with the City of Kenora and that all requirements are met.

Bar Information
The Kenora Golf & Country Club supplies all the bartenders, glass needs, straws, mixes, soft drinks, fresh limes and lemons and ice for the duration of the function. The bar service will be operated by the club, including provision of wine under the club’s license. Wine may be chosen, but not provided by the party. The club charges a corkage fee of $12.00 per bottle for wine above the club’s cost including all taxes.  The bar will close at 1:00 am with the premise cleared of guests no later than 1:45 am, unless otherwise dictated by COVID – 19 restrictions.  Please ensure that safe transportation home of guests is provided by the organizer.

Cash Bar
The Kenora Golf & Country Club will sell drinks on an individual basis directly to the guests.

Host Bar
The Host of the event will pay for each and every drink. The Host will be billed accordingly, based on the following price structure. The party may chose to restrict the types of drinks available to their guests.
Bar Shot – House brand – $5.25
Domestic Beer – $5.25

Premium Beer or bar shot – $6.50

Coolers – $6.25
Caesar – $7.00
House wine per 6 oz  glass – $7.25
House wine per bottle 750 ml bottle- $34.95

House wine per 1.15l bottle – $43.95
Fountain Pop – $3.25 (includes free refills)

LOONIE and TWOONIE Bar

The guests purchase drinks for either a loonie or twoonie during the event.  The host is then responsible for paying the difference at the end of the evening.

FOOD SERVICE
All food is to be supplied, prepared and served by Leslie Watson, the caterer at the Kenora Golf & Country Club. All menu items listed below are guidelines to help you choose the right menu for your function; however, the client can alter the menu to fit their needs and pricing.

We offer buffet dinners which include salads,  garden vegetables, choice of potatoes, cabbage rolls, rice or pasta,  assorted relished to compliment, dinner rolls, choice of beef, ham, turkey, chicken breast or roast pork.  Special dietary restrictions/options available.
