WHAT YOUR GOLF EXPERIENCE WILL LOOK LIKE UNDER THE STAY AT HOME COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE GOLF COURSE
All services provided at the club will be reservation only. If you are looking to use the driving range, please ensure that you have booked a stall and arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to your time. Please hit from the assigned stall and do not move behind the white line. Those hitting must remain at least 6 feet or 2 metres apart and wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible. Please return the range pail back to the Pro Shop when finished and not congregate on golf course property.
When the golf course opens, due to limited tee times, ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A TEE TIME BOOKED PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE GOLF COURSE WITH A LIST OF GOLFERS IN THEIR GROUP. There will be no more than 4 players per group. Everyone on the golf course must have their own clubs. Please note: There are no rental clubs available due to the inability to effectively clean and sanitized the golf bag and pockets.
Kenora Golf & Country Club members may book up to 7 days in advance. Non-members may book up to 5 days in advance. Power carts must be requested at time of booking. Those with yearly power cart rentals will be given preference.
Tee times may be made by calling the Pro Shop at 807-468-7995 for the first two weeks, then may be booked online at golfkenora.com or kenoragolf.ca.
Plan to arrive at the golf course NO MORE THAN 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR ROUND, 30 MINUTES IF YOU ARE WARMING UP AT THE DRIVING RANGE. This will help to reduce the amount of traffic in the parking lots, around the clubhouse and in the Pro Shop. If you are early, please remain in your vehicle. It is very important that you arrive on time for your tee time. We have limited tee times available and squeeze times will not be available.
UPON ARRIVAL AT THE GOLF COURSE
Signage will greet you as you walk from the parking lot toward the clubhouse with instructions as to how to check-in and proceed with your round. ALL PLAYERS MUST CHECK INTO PRIOR TO TEEING OFF FOR COVID SCREENING. We encourage pre-paying for your round or you membership by calling the Pro Shop prior to coming to the golf course.
GOLFERS MUST ENTER THE PRO SHOP UP THE RAMP THROUGH THE BACK SHOP DOOR AND EXIT THROUGH THE PRO SHOP DOOR.
Only 1 person as well as staff permitted in the Pro Shop. Please follow distancing markers at all times both inside and outside the pro shop.
Anyone entering the clubhouse or golfing must wash their hands by using the hand sanitizer station located by the Pro Shop door when arriving at the golf course, entering the clubhouse and leaving the facility after your round.
Hand sanitizer stations will be available by the Pro Shop doors and upstairs beside each door.
Payments may be made by calling for pre-payment with visa or mastercard or in the Pro Shop by tap of credit card, debit card or member account charges. Debit machines in which the pin pad was used will be sanitized after each transaction. We would prefer that you use plastic instead of cash payment. The onsite ATM will not be available.
Just a reminder that no outside alcohol will be permitted on the course in accordance to the AGCO Liquor laws. There will be no clubhouse services at the start of the season.
YOUR GOLF EXPERIENCE
Social distancing of 2 metres or 6 feet must be maintained at ALL TIMES. This includes keeping your distance with all members of your group as well as the golf course staff.
Once you have moved to the tee box area, please wait until your scheduled tee time. A tee clock will be located on the first tee. You will not be permitted to tee off early and if you are late for your tee time, you will have to wait in the parking lot until the next open time slot is available.
There will be no “squeeze” times and all play will start from the first tee. There will be no back nine starts. No exceptions.
Golfers are not permitted to congregate in any area of the golf course. If there is a back log or your group is playing faster than the group ahead, please be patient and stay a safe distance back. If the group allows you to play through, please make sure that there is a safe distance from your group and the group ahead. Cross country golf and skipping holes is not permitted.
All member owned and rental power carts may have 2 riders with or without a divider. Ontario Public health orders as of March 25th, 2021 requires masks to be worn by players sharing a golf cart, regardless of having a divider if you are not from the same address.
All rental power carts will be cleaned and sanitized before and after each round. Pull carts will be available on request and brought out to you. They will be cleaned and sanitized after each use. Please return to the designated drop off area when your round is complete.
High touch areas on the course have been removed including ball washers, benches and bunker rakes.
When in the bunker, please smooth the sand with your foot following play. If your ball lands in someone else’s foot print or in a disturbed area, you may move your ball, smooth out the disturbed area with your foot and replace the ball without penalty.
Handshakes, high fives and any other touching gestures are not permitted before, during and after your round. Be sure to only touch your own personal items. This includes golf balls, tees, clubs and golf bags.
The flag stick is to remain in the hole AT ALL TIMES. We have installed a special lift with a hook near the bottom of the the flag stick, that by lifting with the putter head or foot will lift your ball from the hole. You may then pick your ball up without any contact with the cup or flag stick.
Score cards and pencils will be available in the Pro Shop by request. There are a number of alternatives such as the scoring option on your GPS device, Golf Canada Score Centre – entering hole by hole and score card apps on your phone. The club’s handicap kiosk will not be available. Please enter your scores on the Golf Canada app, Golf Canada website or through this website.
On course washroom facilities will not be available. The upstairs washrooms will be open at the clubhouse until 6:30 pm. So plan accordingly. Entrance to the washrooms will be through the stairs located by the Pro Shop entrance with the exit through the doors leading to the front deck.
RENTAL AND DEMO GOLF CLUBS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE at this time due to the high contact a player has with them and the inability to clean the bag/pockets.
Pace of play should be no more than 4 hours for an 18 hole round. If you find your group is being pushed, you may safely, maintaining physical distance, allow the faster group to play through or you may pick up your ball and move to the open hole ahead. Please be aware that threesomes and foursomes have priority on the course over twosomes and singles.
ALL RENTAL POWER CARTS AND PULL CARTS MUST BE OFF THE COURSE 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO SUNSET IN ORDER TO ALLOW FOR ADDITIONAL CLEANING AND SANITIZING PROCEDURES.
If there is inclement weather and the horn has been sounded to call players off the golf course due to lightning and to promote physical distancing, we are asking that you wait in your vehicle until the course resumes play.
AFTER YOUR ROUND OF GOLF
Maintain proper social distancing of 2 metres or 6 feel while unloading in the parking lot and parking your private cart in the compound area.
Return your rental cart or pull cart to the appropriate drop off area (by 18th green) without delay so it can be properly cleaned and sanitized prior to going out again.
Please remove all garbage from the rental cart and deposit in designated bins or take it home with you.
No congregating in the parking lot. Please load your equipment, return your power cart and exit the facility.
FACILITY AND OPERATIONAL CHANGES
The bar and restaurant will not be open at the start of the season. As the weather improves, takeout / curbside service will be available and a beverage cart will be available on the course. While inside masks must be worn while moving around such as picking up orders or using the restroom. A menu is located on the 8th tee to pre-order. Contact 468-3597 to place your order which will be ready for you when you make the turn located upstairs on a table for pick up.
Touch points such as doors, door handles, tables and counter tops will be cleaned and sanitized every 15 minutes.
Washroom facilities will be available upstairs and in the locker room with one person in the washroom at a time. Washrooms will be open and sanitized twice an hour throughout the day. An overall cleaning and sanitization will be done at the end of each day to prepare for the following day.
Please respect physical distancing while on the property, in the Pro Shop and upstairs.
Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the facility. Individual hand sanitizer bottles will be available for purchase in the Pro Shop while supplies last. We recommend you bring hand sanitizer with you if you would like it available with you on the golf course.
The club storage service is available. Clubs will be placed on the rack in front of the first tee. When the round is complete, please leave on the club storage drop off rack to the left of the 18th green where they will be sanitized, cleaned and placed in your stall.
